Event Profile

As one of the twelve largest international film festivals officially endorsed by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF), TIFF has been growing steadily as an internationally-recognized film festival ever since 1985, and it continues to develop along with its affiliated market TIFFCOM, and Cofesta.
The theme of the 21st TIFF will be “ecology,” in recognition of the fact that we as human beings are responsible for protecting and preserving the global environment.
To symbolize our commitment, TIFF will feature a “Green Carpet”, and the ecological theme will also be reflected in concurrent seminars and networking events on environment and ecology where anyone will be able to participate freely.
Over the nine days of the festival, films from a variety of genres will be shown in several intriguing programs; “Competition”, “Special Screenings”, “Winds of Asia-Middle East”, “Japanese Eyes”, “WORLD CINEMA”, and a newly launched program called “natural TIFF” to match the ecological theme of this year.
