| Event Overview | The JAPAN PRIZE was established in 1965 by NHK with the aims of improving the quality of educational broadcasting around the world and contributing to the development of international understanding and cooperation. Keeping these original aims, in 2008, JAPAN PRIZE reformed its content and now targets not only TV programs but also other linear contents, websites, educational games, and other interactive products with audiovisual content. Educational content has the important task of giving children hope to make their dreams come true and supporting adults' motivation to learn further. In response, 324 productions, the largest number to date, have been entered from 65 countries. 14 jurors from 12 countries, who are experts in education, broadcast and production of educational content, are invited to rigorously judge pre-selected entries. During the final judgment, a CrossMedia Forum is held to provide various opportunities for participating producers, creators and educators from around the world. Screenings and presentations of entered productions offer useful knowledge about techiniques and applications of educational contents. We welcome active participation in the Forum. JAPAN PRIZE related programs will be broadcast through NHK Educational Channel as follows: Awards Ceremony: November 1 (Sun) |
