| Event Overview | Since its founding, the Yokohama Student Film Festival has introduced student films from around the world, chiefly from Japan, China, and South Korea. This year is the eight incarnation of this festival, which is intended to promote the works of young film artists from Japan, China, and South Korea. The festival is making steady progress toward the important common goal of creating new film markets in East Asia, for example with the introduction of the joint Japanese-Chinese-Korean production “The Story of 3 Ports,” a film commemorating the 150th anniversary of the opening of the Port of Yokohama, achieved thanks to the cultural exchange in the world of film that has been built up through this festival over the years. |
