The official theme music of CoFesta, “Links,” was composed by Joe Hisaishi, who is one of Japan's leading contemporary composers. In preparation for the inaugural CoFesta (held in 2007), we asked him to write the tune in a quest for a theme tune that would be suitable for a festival celebrating Japanese contents. This piece was unveiled during the opening ceremony of CoFesta 2007. “Links” beautifully expresses the way in which a variety of contents work in concert with each other while linking to one another through spreading and distributing, centered around the “C” mark, which is the first letter of the word “content.” A new version of “Links” which was recorded in London is included in his latest album “Minima_Rhythm” (sold by Universal Music) and was also performed at the “Orchestra Concert 2009 Minima_Rhythm Tour.”
