JAPAN INTERNATIONAL CONTENTS FESTIVAL 2009(CoFesta), the world’s largest contents festival is finally here. With the Tokyo Game Show that will be held on the 24th of September as the starting point, it will last till the 28th of October, a period of 35 days. During this period, 18 official events will be held in Tokyo and Kyoto.
CoFesta is the world’s largest comprehensive contents festival held in Japan that brings together various events from the contents industry, such as games, animations, comics, characters, broadcasting, music and film, as well as events from the closely-related fashion and design industry.
It was first held in 2007, for the purpose of bringing together contents from various fields and introducing them to the world and also to act as a venue where those from the rest of the world with an interest in contents can experience Japan’s rich contents, contributing to further growth of Japan’s contents industry. The total number of attendees in the past events is estimated to be over 800 thousand people. In addition to the main event, various original events, such as Dramatic 3 Hours and the Tadahisa Fujimura Meeting in ASAKUSA will be held.
In addition, as the third anniversary approaches this year, CoFesta looks forward to further improving and strengthening its functionality as a comprehensive event for the promotion of Japanese brands. For this reason, CoFesta took part in this year’s JAPAN EXPO, the world’s largest Japanese popular-culture event, held in Paris, France in July.
Koji Yakusho, who continues from last year as CoFesta’s main image character, and Anne Watanabe CoFesta2009’s image character, will also be in attendance.
We welcome everybody to JAPAN INTERNATIONAL CONTENTS FESTIVAL(CoFesta) and hope you are able to experience and enjoy Japanese advanced contents from a variety of industries.
